Something about a beach…

Standard

There is just something about a beach.

Being at the beach. Toes in the sand, playing in the ocean, camping on the beach, having a bbq at the beach. I think you know what I mean. It’s peaceful. It makes life seem so simple.  Your worries seem washed away in the continuous waves that crash at the shore.

It’s at the beach where I love “people watching” the most.

Everyone seems happy. I especially love watching little kids at the beach…they just seem so happy with not a care in the world. The other day Tom and I had BBQ on the beach for a little date night dinner… it was so fun to watch the sun set below the mountains in the background. I got to watch kids play in the sand, people swim in the ocean, and people of all ages walk by chatting for a few hours. It was lovely. It was fun to be at the beach, but also not be “in the action” just observing this time. It was also the perfect end to a long day at work! I can’t tell you enough how much I LOVE living by the beach. I wonder how I ever survived living without plentiful mountains to hike, and gorgeous beaches to visit. I thought I would share some of my favorite beach moments, and thought it was the perfect time to do so… Now that beach season is in FULL EFFECT! To start off some oldies…but goodies:

Do you love the beach? Or do you prefer the mountains?

In the midst of the Wisconsin winters I would close my eyes and picture myself at the beach. I think I was born a beach lover!

About Elicia Shepard

I'm unique just like you. I've learned every person has a story which makes us who we are. One minute I am here..then I am gone. Discovering unknown places and people is an addiction I am proud of and will be an endless journey of mine. Smiling is not a pastime it's what I do. I live for moments that take my breath away. Falling in love is the greatest feeling-and the biggest risk. I thrive off of risks.Challenges. Adrenaline rushes. Making others smile. Art is all around and in ourselves. I love taking an unknown path not knowing where it'll lead. Mystery is beautiful. Compassion, kindness, and love- things I will always strive for. Know what you believe in. Stand up for it. Never be afraid to feel. Time waits for no one.Ever. Children inspire me. God fires me. Happiness is being with those you love.I am really blessed. I think God is love and forgiveness and I think he wants us to be good people and love EVERYONE. Figure out who you are and what that means to you-It's one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself (and you deserve it.) Live frugally on surprise. Breathe. Be who you are. Be an outcast...If you wanna find me I will be where the wind blows...Wherever that may take me.

    • Thanks Katie! Living by the beach feels like just a little bit of spoiled after those tough Wisconsin winters! I was such a wimp with the cold. 🙂 BUT it makes visiting a beach SO awesome!!!!
